A high-speed pump designed to operate at rotational speeds significantly greater than standard pumps, often exceeding 3,600 revolutions per minute. These pumps use a speed-increasing gearbox to drive the impeller at very high velocities, allowing a single-stage pump to generate high heads (pressures) that would otherwise require a multi-stage design. This design is common in applications like boiler feed water service, reverse osmosis, and high-pressure cleaning systems.
