Immittance

Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-002976

A combined measure of impedance and admittance, describing the response of an electrical circuit to a sinusoidal voltage or current. It encompasses both impedance (Z), the opposition to current flow, and its reciprocal, admittance (Y), the ease of current flow. Immittance values, expressed in ohms for impedance or siemens for admittance, are calculated during the design and testing of power grids and electronic filters.
