A brand name for a line of hydraulic rescue tools, including spreaders, cutters, and combination tools, used by emergency responders to extricate victims from confined spaces. These tools operate by using hydraulic fluid pressurized by a pump to generate immense force for prying open vehicle doors, cutting through metal pillars, or lifting heavy objects. A typical modern spreader can generate a spreading force exceeding 20,000 pounds at its tips.
