K-factor
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-003170
A dimensionless ratio used in sheet metal bending to describe the location of the neutral axis relative to the material's thickness. It is defined as the ratio of the distance from the inside surface to the neutral axis, divided by the material thickness. The K-factor typically ranges from 0.3 to 0.5, depending on the material and bending process.
