Power factor

The ratio of real power (kW) consumed by an AC electrical load to the apparent power (kVA) flowing into the circuit. It indicates how effectively electrical power is being converted into useful work. A power factor of 1.0 signifies maximum efficiency, while a lower power factor indicates a larger reactive power component.
