Keyhole

An opening in a lock mechanism designed to receive the corresponding key. Its shape and internal configuration are specific to the lock, allowing only the correct key to engage the tumblers and operate the bolt. Keyholes vary widely in design, from simple slots to complex, multi-faceted apertures.
