Knee

A structural or mechanical component that forms an angular joint, similar to a bent knee, providing support and reinforcement between two parts meeting at an angle. In machine tools like milling machines, the knee is a vertically adjustable casting that supports the saddle and worktable. This component slides up and down the main column of the machine to set the cutting depth of the tool relative to the workpiece.
