Kneecap

A formed metal cap, shaped to match the profile of a ribbed metal roof panel, that is placed on a panel rib once the rib has been cut and bent over. The cap covers the exposed cut end of the rib and gives the bent section a finished appearance. It is a sheet-metal accessory made for standing seam and other ribbed panel systems, and it has no relation to the anatomical kneecap.
