Knife-edge
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-007069
A sharp, V-shaped pivot point used in precision weighing scales and other measuring instruments to minimize friction and provide a stable fulcrum. It allows for highly accurate measurements by reducing the contact area and thus the resistance to movement. Knife-edge bearings are often made from hardened steel or agate for durability and precision.
