Limiter

An electronic circuit that prevents a signal's amplitude from exceeding a predetermined maximum or falling below a minimum level. It operates by clipping the peaks of the waveform, thereby protecting subsequent stages from overdriving or distortion. Limiters are frequently employed in audio processing and radio frequency systems.
