Clipper

An electronic circuit that limits or 'clips' the amplitude of a signal to a predetermined maximum or minimum level. It prevents the signal from exceeding these thresholds, thereby protecting subsequent stages from overvoltage or distortion. Clipper circuits are commonly used in audio amplifiers, radio transmitters, and power supplies for signal conditioning.
