An unobstructed path between the transmitting and receiving antennas of a communication system. This line-of-sight propagation is characteristic of radio frequencies in the VHF band and above, where signals travel in a straight line and do not follow the Earth's curvature. Obstacles such as buildings, hills, or foliage can block or reflect the signal, causing attenuation or multipath interference.
