A specific range of frequencies in the electromagnetic spectrum, allocated for a particular purpose. In telecommunications, radio frequencies are divided into bands for services like AM and FM radio, television broadcasting, mobile phones, and satellite communication. Each band is defined by its upper and lower frequency limits, such as the FM broadcast band which spans from 88 to 108 megahertz.
