Band
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-003794
A range of wavelengths or frequencies within the electromagnetic spectrum, often used to describe specific regions where atmospheric gases absorb or transmit radiation. In remote sensing, different bands are selected to observe particular atmospheric or surface features. For example, the visible band is used for imaging clouds, while infrared bands detect temperature.
