Oxygen band
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-007770
A specific range of wavelengths in the electromagnetic spectrum where molecular oxygen (O2) strongly absorbs radiation. These absorption bands are primarily found in the visible and near-infrared regions, such as the A-band around 760 nm and the B-band around 687 nm. They are used in remote sensing to retrieve information about atmospheric properties and cloud heights.
