Average over the spectrum

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-003743

A statistical mean calculated across a range of wavelengths or frequencies within the electromagnetic spectrum. This averaging technique is applied to quantities like radiance or irradiance to obtain a representative value for a broader spectral band. It is commonly used in remote sensing to characterize atmospheric or surface properties.
