Volume average
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-010051
A statistical measure representing the mean value of a quantity over a defined three-dimensional space. It is calculated by integrating the quantity over the volume and then dividing by the total volume. This averaging technique is often used in atmospheric modeling to represent properties within a grid cell.
