Spatial average
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-009084
A statistical measure that represents the average value of a variable over a defined geographical area or volume. This is calculated by integrating the variable's values across the space and dividing by the area or volume. Spatial averages are frequently used in meteorology to characterize regional climate conditions or the distribution of atmospheric constituents.
