Absorption spectrum

A plot showing the amount of electromagnetic radiation absorbed by a substance across a range of wavelengths or frequencies. Each substance has a unique absorption spectrum, acting as a molecular fingerprint. This spectrum is used to identify and quantify atmospheric gases and aerosols through remote sensing techniques.
