Differential optical absorption
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-004987
A spectroscopic technique that measures the absorption of light by atmospheric trace gases over a range of wavelengths. It relies on the unique absorption features of different gases to determine their concentrations. This method is widely used for remote sensing of pollutants like nitrogen dioxide and sulfur dioxide.
