Omnidirectional
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-003990
Describing an antenna or transducer that radiates or receives energy equally well in all directions in one plane. For an antenna, this creates a doughnut-shaped radiation pattern that is uniform in the horizontal (azimuth) plane but has reduced radiation directly above and below the element. In contrast, a directional antenna focuses its energy in a specific direction, providing higher gain in that direction.
