Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-003996

A binary encoding scheme where exactly one bit in a set is set to a logical high (1) state, while all other bits are at a logical low (0) state. This method is commonly employed in digital circuits, such as state machines, to represent the current state. For example, a system with four states would use four bits, with only one bit active at any moment.
