Duobinary

Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-001914

A method of digital data transmission that encodes binary data into a three-level signal, using a technique called partial response signaling. It introduces controlled intersymbol interference to increase the data rate within a given bandwidth. This encoding scheme is often employed in high-speed modems and digital radio systems to achieve spectral efficiency.
