Petabecquerel

A unit of radioactivity equal to one quadrillion (10¹⁵) becquerels, symbolized as PBq. This large unit is used to quantify the total radioactive material released during major nuclear incidents or contained within large-scale nuclear waste inventories. The 1986 Chernobyl disaster is estimated to have released about 5,200 petabecquerels of radioactive material into the atmosphere.
