Retarded time
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-004815
The time at which an electromagnetic event occurred at a source, as observed at a later time at a distant point. This concept accounts for the finite speed of light, meaning that the observed event is always a delayed version of the actual event. It is calculated by subtracting the travel time of the signal from the observation time.
