Ridge course

The final row of shingles or tiles installed along the peak of a roof, covering the intersection of two opposing roof planes. This course provides a weather-tight seal and a finished appearance to the roof's highest point. It is often composed of specially formed ridge cap shingles or cut-down field shingles.
