Shaft horsepower

The actual power delivered by an engine or motor to a rotating shaft, measured at the shaft itself. This value accounts for power losses within the engine and transmission components before the power reaches the output shaft. It is a common metric for marine propulsion systems and turbomachinery, often expressed in kilowatts or mechanical horsepower.
