Speeder

A small, self-propelled railway vehicle used by maintenance-of-way crews for inspecting track, transporting personnel, and carrying light equipment. These vehicles are designed for rapid movement along the tracks and are equipped with flanged wheels to run on the rails. Modern speeders are often replaced by hi-rail vehicles, which can operate on both roads and rails.
