Stereotypy

The process of creating a stereotype, which is a duplicate printing plate made from a mold of an original form or type. This method allows for multiple copies of a plate to be produced, enabling simultaneous printing on several presses or providing backup plates. Stereotypes were historically cast from molten metal, typically a lead alloy.
