Swage block

A heavy, multi-sided block of cast iron or steel containing shaped depressions, grooves, and holes used for forming hot metal. Blacksmiths and metalworkers use it as a die to shape, bend, or punch workpieces with a hammer. The block's different faces and holes provide a selection of forms, such as half-rounds, squares, and hexagonal shapes, for creating specific profiles.
