Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-005802
A method of electrical power distribution, single-wire earth return, that uses one conductor to carry the current, with the ground itself acting as the return path. This system is used for single-phase transmission and is installed where the cost of a conventional multi-wire system would be prohibitive. SWER lines are primarily found in sparsely populated rural areas, operating at medium voltages, typically between 12.7 kilovolts and 19.1 kilovolts.
