Thinning

The selective removal of excess seedlings or plants from a crop stand to reduce competition for resources such as light, water, and nutrients. This practice promotes the growth of the remaining plants, leading to larger and healthier individual specimens. Thinning can be performed manually or mechanically, depending on the crop and scale of operation.
