Trip out

To automatically disconnect an electrical circuit from its power source due to an overload, short circuit, or other fault condition. This protective action prevents damage to equipment and reduces the risk of fire or electrical shock. Circuit breakers and fuses are devices designed to trip out when current exceeds a safe limit.
