Overcurrent protective device

An electrical safety component that automatically opens a circuit when the current exceeds a predetermined safe level, preventing damage to equipment and reducing fire hazards. Common examples include fuses and circuit breakers, which interrupt the flow of electricity. These devices are rated by their maximum current capacity and voltage.
