Triple valve

A key component of the air brake system on railway freight and passenger cars, invented by George Westinghouse. It controls the flow of compressed air to charge the auxiliary reservoir, apply the brakes, and release them in response to changes in brake pipe pressure initiated by the locomotive engineer. The valve has three primary functions: charging, application, and release, hence its name.
