Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-006300
The designation for radio frequencies in the range from 300 hertz to 3 kilohertz, corresponding to wavelengths from 1,000 to 100 kilometers. Ultra Low Frequency (ULF) waves can penetrate conductive materials like seawater and soil, making them suitable for communication with submarines and for geophysical surveys. In the power industry, some through-the-earth communication systems for mines use this frequency band.
