Unsmelted

Describing an ore or metallic compound that has not yet undergone the smelting process to extract the pure metal. This material remains in its raw, naturally occurring state, often mixed with gangue minerals. Smelting involves heating the ore with a reducing agent to separate the desired metal from its chemical compounds.
