Valley piece

Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-006407

A specially shaped roofing tile or shingle used to form a closed valley, where the roofing units from both slopes meet along the valley line without an open metal channel between them. The pieces are cut or moulded to follow the angle of the valley and are laid in courses with the surrounding tiles or shingles. A closed valley contrasts with an open valley, in which a metal flashing stays exposed along the centreline.
