Weyl fermion
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-007369
A massless, chiral quasiparticle that emerges as an excitation in certain crystalline materials known as Weyl semimetals. These materials exhibit unique electronic properties, including exceptionally high electron mobility and a strong response to magnetic fields. The novel transport phenomena associated with Weyl fermions are being researched for potential applications in next-generation spintronics and quantum computing.
