Wythe

A continuous vertical section of masonry, one unit in thickness, forming part of a wall. A single-wythe wall consists of one layer of bricks or blocks, while a cavity wall may have two wythes separated by an air space. The thickness of a wythe is determined by the dimensions of the masonry units used.
