Asset share value

The accumulated value of a life insurance policyholder's contributions, less expenses and claims, plus investment earnings, calculated by the insurer. This internal accounting measure reflects the policy's contribution to the insurer's surplus over time. It is a factor in determining dividends for participating policies or surrender values.
