Disparate treatment discrimination

A form of employment discrimination where an employer treats an individual differently based on their membership in a protected class, such as race, gender, religion, or national origin. This type of discrimination requires proof of discriminatory intent, meaning the employer consciously acted with a discriminatory motive. Evidence can be direct, such as explicit statements, or indirect, inferred from the circumstances of the adverse action.
