Flood exclusion

A standard provision in most property insurance policies, including homeowners and commercial forms, that explicitly denies coverage for damage caused by flood. This exclusion applies to rising water, surface water, storm surge, and overflow of inland or tidal waters. To obtain protection against flood damage, a separate flood insurance policy must be purchased.
