Joisted masonry construction

A type of building construction where the exterior walls are made of masonry (brick, stone, concrete block) but the floors and roof are supported by wooden joists and rafters. This construction type is common in older commercial and residential buildings. It generally presents a higher fire risk than non-combustible or fire-resistive construction.
