Limited damage waiver (LDW)

An optional agreement offered by rental car companies that relieves the renter of financial responsibility for damage to the rental vehicle. This waiver is not insurance but a contractual agreement between the renter and the rental company. It generally covers collision damage, theft, and vandalism to the rented vehicle, subject to specific exclusions.
