The incidence and prevalence of disease, illness, injury, or disability within a population. In insurance, morbidity rates are used by actuaries to calculate premiums for health insurance, disability insurance, and long-term care insurance. Higher morbidity rates indicate a greater likelihood of claims, leading to higher premiums.
