A group of healthcare providers, such as doctors, hospitals, and clinics, that contract with an insurance plan to provide services to its members at negotiated rates. Members typically receive higher benefits or pay lower out-of-pocket costs when they use providers within the network. Managed care plans, like Health Maintenance Organizations (HMOs) and Preferred Provider Organizations (PPOs), rely on these networks.
