Occurrence policy
Term · Insurance and risk management · MLC-T-INS-002390
A type of liability insurance policy that covers claims arising from incidents that occur during the policy period, regardless of when the claim is reported. The key factor for coverage is the date of the injury or damage, not the date the insured becomes aware of it or reports it. This contrasts with a claims-made policy, which requires the claim to be reported during the policy period.
