Vicarious liability

A legal doctrine where one party is held responsible for the wrongful acts of another, even without direct involvement in the act itself. This liability arises from a special relationship between the parties, such as employer-employee or principal-agent. For instance, an employer can be vicariously liable for an employee's negligence committed within the scope of employment.
