Age Discrimination in Employment Act

A United States federal law, abbreviated as ADEA, that protects individuals aged 40 and older from employment discrimination. This act prohibits discrimination in hiring, promotion, discharge, compensation, or terms, conditions, or privileges of employment. It applies to private employers with 20 or more employees, as well as to federal, state, and local governments.
